Nio EP9

Presented on November 21, 2016, at the Saatchi Gallery in London, the NIO EP9 is an electric supercar that wants to redefine the paradigm of this type of car.

With chassis and body entirely in carbon fiber, the car weighs 1735 kg. Blame the two batteries, which together add 635 kg to the 1100 kg of EP9.

Made of lithium, they are indirectly cooled by water, following the safety standards ÚN R100. The recharge time is 45 minutes and the autonomy reaches 427 km, depending on the mode of driving.

The rear wing is adjustable and has three configurations: parked, low drag and high pressure. The latter allows the EP9 to generate 24,000 newtons (5,395 lbs) of downforce at 150 mph (240 km / h). In a car of formula 1 this measure reaches 17,000 newtons. The lateral acceleration can reach 2.53 Gs in the curves and 3.3 Gs during a sudden braking.

The interior is also made entirely of carbon fiber and features four led screens that inform performance data to the driver.

There are 4 electric engines that, together, generate 1 MW (one megawatt) of power, equivalent to 1341 hp. There are also 4 individual gears for better use of the torque from 645 m.kgf to 7500 rpm, which is dumped on all four wheels through a vectorization system.

The active suspension is equipped with 4-way adjustable dampers and makes 200 calculations per second to compensate runway unevenness.

The brakes feature 408-mm ceramic-carbon discs with 6-piston calipers. Braking power is up to 2 times that of a GT3 car. The wheels can be 19 inches, specifically made to improve track performance or 21 inches for urban use.
